Hello! I’m sending this email to inform you about a new course “Lithuanian Genealogy and Culture II” that’s going to start this autumn and will be a learning opportunity for people who have Lithuanian ancestors and would like to get to know the culture and history more, and continue their genealogy research. It’ll be a fun way to spend some time in autumn weekends and learn more about some exciting topics. I’ll talk about a variety of things – starting from the Lithuanian rulers, cultural and religious groups, the estates of realm, traditions of birth, marriage and death, to the Baltic culture, religion and language, people who left a mark in Lithuanian culture or history, and lastly, some magic before December – Lithuanian mythology and folklore. It will consist of 7 parts – we’re starting 19th October. Anyone interested are welcome to register right away – I’ll send reminders and joining links before each session. Also, as always, they’ll be recorded in case people cannot join some of the lectures live.
I’ll also do an autumn group for the Lithuanian Genealogy 101 course that covers the basics – the alphabet, main historical changes, genealogy resources, finding and analysing the church records – you’ll find more information here. It’ll be starting 14th September and will be a good start for those wanting to join the other course, too.
And before we reach autumn and start the courses mentioned above, I have some openings for personal consultations for genealogy research in August. Let me know if there are any questions. I’ll appreciate if you can share the invitation with the members of your community.
