Three of my pieces on display in the Crystal Ballroom of Navy Pier, Chicago, on March 11, Lithuanian Independence Day. Further information about this event:  http://www.plioplys.com/blog/?cat=1

If you are in the Chicago vicinity this coming Sunday, March 25, you may want to join me in co-commemorating the victims of Stalin’s genocidal mass deportations. The Parliament of the European Union issued a proclamation urging international cooperating to remember the tragic events of the March 25-28, 1949 wave of deportations from the Baltic Republics. I will give a PowerPoint presentation reviewing the current exhibit on this subject, Hope and Spirit, and then will give a personal tour of the items on display. The presentation will be in English.

This will take place at 2PM, Sunday March 25, Balzekas Museum of Lithuanian Culture, 6500 S. Pulaski Rd., Chicago, Illinois.

In addition, on Tuesday, March 27, I will give the same presentation to a general assembly at St. Rita High School in Chicago. This is the high school that I attended and graduated. The presentation will be broadcast live, on-line, so that other students at Augustinian high schools and colleges in North America would be able to participate. So, information concerning Stalin’s atrocities is spreading.

Hope to see you Sunday. Sincerely,  Audrius V. Plioplys MD, FRCPC
